AADT to Offer Required Supervisor Training Seminar Oct. 25, 2013

AADT is offering all of our clients and interested parties required Supervisor Training on Friday, October 25th at the Newport Beach Hyatt Regency as part of an all-day educational seminar hosted by the California Construction Trucking Association (CCTA). The Drug and Alcohol Testing Supervisory Training seminar is priced at a discounted rate of $69 for Members and Clients, and $99 for Nonmembers. Required Supervisor Training

Supervisor training is mandated for companies with employees that want to initiate reasonable suspicion testing for any of their employees and has this in their written company policy. A designated person needs to be someone that interacts, preferable on a daily basis with the employee, knows their work habits, gauges their attendance, and would be able to notice any visible changes in the employee’s appearance or behavioral patterns and has written documentation leading up to the initiating of reasonable suspicion testing.

If someone within your company has completed the requirements, please forward us the documentation for our records. Once you have been trained there is no requirement to retake the course, but if it has been some time since you completed the training, you may want to consider a refresher course. If your trained supervisor has had a position change and is no longer involved in the daily interaction with the employees you may want to train a replacement or you may want to consider having another person trained as a back-up position. Not only is supervisor training a DOT/CHP requirement, but from an employer legal liability standpoint, it is considered a wise decision. For just a couple hours of your time the investment in training can prove to be very cost efficient should an issue related to employee behavior or an accident arise in the future.

As part of CCTA’s 72nd annual membership meeting, we will be hosting an entire day of industry specific educational classes at the Hyatt Regency in Newport Beach on October 25th. You are welcome to just participate in only the Drug and Alcohol Supervisor Training class or attend the full slate of events scheduled for Friday.
