DOT/CHP Required Supervisor Training
Q: My DOT inspector just cited our company for not having someone Supervisor Trained – What does this mean?
A: Both federal regulations (DOT FMCSA 49 CFR Part 382) and even California regulation (CVC §34520(a)) states that all trucking companies must have a federally compliant drug and alcohol testing program.
Within these regulations each company that has commercial drivers must also have a designated person to supervise those drivers.
This person must have completed at least 60 minutes of training for alcohol misuse and 60 minutes on controlled substances use (refer to 49 CFR §382.603 and §382.307).
