Q: I’m and owner-operator and I received a random notice to do a drug and alcohol test, what do I do?
A: You should go to AADT’s website and look for a collection site nearest to you that does both drug and alcohol testing. Click on “AADT Contracted Collection Sites” button to search for the nearest location to your ZIP code. Check-mark the box next to the zip code that says “show only sites with Alcohol testing,” as not all sites do.
Call the site to check their hours. As an owner-operator, typically, you are the employer / donor. Make sure you notify the collector for paperwork purposes.
Your paperwork also notes the following: After the test(s) have been performed, the collector should give you the donor Copy #5 (green strip at bottom), the employer copy #4 (blue strip at bottom) of the COC/CCF and the Breath Alcohol Test (BAT) form (if required), this will verify that the collection(s) were completed. Please make a COPY of form #4 and #5 of the COC/CCF form, and the BAT form, along with a copy of the completed and signed Random Test Notification. Send the COPIES to us by email at (cs@aadrugtesting.com), or fax to (909) 608-2058. You are required to keep the ORIGINALS for your files. If you or the collection site mails us the originals we will mail them back to you for your record. The DOT recently implemented this requirement.
